In anticipation of the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, and to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), the annual signature event of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust-funded and HKSI-organized The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project for Elite Athletes 'Sports PLUS', the 'Community Traveling Exhibition', will be held at PopCorn, an MTR mall in Tseung Kwan O from today (22nd) to 30th August, following its well-received first stop at the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo.

Breaking free from traditional frameworks, the traveling exhibition is specially themed 'Tribute to Athletes'. It blends 16-bit retro pixels (Pixel Art) with modern neon designs, transforming the mall's atrium into an intriguing simulated RPG scene. The design concept not only symbolizes the countless hardships and challenges that every athlete has endured, constantly 'Leveling Up' in their sporting careers, striving to win medals in international competitions, but also showcases the HKSI's role in supporting and training Hong Kong athletes over the years.

To help the public understand the development and remarkable achievements of Hong Kong's sports sector, the exhibition features six highlighted zones. While showcasing how Sports PLUS strives to integrate sports into the community, enhance public health, and promote social cohesion, the exhibition also vividly displays how the HKSI has utilized cutting-edge scientific training and a comprehensive support system over the past 35 years to nurture local athletes, helping them unlock their potential and achieve higher competitive levels.

3D photo op with the new mascot: A striking giant pixel art and modern neon-themed installation, along with the debut of the HKSI's new mascot 'Teamie', offers a retro RPG-style photo opportunity for visitors.

HKSI's 35th-anniversary milestone: A special milestone exhibit celebrates the HKSI's 35th anniversary, detailing its evolution, and providing an in-depth look at the development of local elite training systems and sports science support. An on-site electronic screen allows visitors to relive memorable moments from Sports PLUS activities.

Display of precious Asian Games medals: The exhibition features the 'Glory of Asian Games: Legends of Hong Kong Sports' honor wall, recording the names of medal-winning athletes from past Asian Games. To let visitors appreciate these precious mementos up close, several representative Asian Games medals are on display, including those won by 'Bike God' Wong Kam-po, 'Female Fish' Siobhan Haughey, table tennis duo Ko Lai Chak and Li Jing, 'Gymnastics Prince' Shek Wai-hung, rugby star Ricardo McKee, fencing champion Cheung Ka Long, and badminton player Angus Ng, totaling 19 medals.

Giant 'Team HK' cheering wall: With the quadrennial Asian Games approaching, visitors can write their messages of support and blessings for Hong Kong athletes on exquisite wooden plaques and deposit them into the giant 'Team HK' installation, cheering them on.

Interactive game zone: Featuring the '3.5 Super Reaction Challenge' button challenge and the '35-Second Fitness Challenge', designed for the HKSI's 35th anniversary, visitors can experience the discipline, focus, and physical demands required in elite athlete training, and see if they can make it onto the leaderboard.
